What leads to Transition - Part 2
What leads to transition part 1 took us to 20 year old 'that boy' returning to the family home tail between legs after falling out with the maths in an Engineering Degree.
A not quite a year out followed with some reconsidering and reflection and the decision to apply for a pre-registration health professional course ...
Another three years of wearing the mask followed , along with some private solace as me ...
During this time my father became increasingly unwell and the start of the 'survival years' began ... his illness, his death and then my wife having two miscarriages wiped out most of the decade 2002 -2012 which resulted in a fairly massive implosion and breakdown which resulted in me leaving Nursing and facing a regulatory action.
Another few years of survival, including a stint of being technically homeless and an increasingly strained relationship with my wife ended up with us seperating and me returning once again to the family home...
An ultimately abortive attempt to return to Nursing followed, but more importantly for this story, a new set of friends and a few surreal conversations which resulted in finally all those puzzle pieces getting collected and most of them clicking together...
Nicola was here and Nicola had some catching up to do, the question was who was hanging on to 'that boy' ? was it that boy or was it Nicola ...
The answer to that question came over the summer of 2017 ...
