A diversion - hillbilly car kit !
In a bit of diversion from my usual output on here i thought i'd share something I have in my car.
My car is quite old; old enough not to have bluetooth or DAB , but new enough to have an Aux in socket...
I also have quite a nice mobile telephone, being a bit of a gadget girl at heart ...
so yes i could just connect my phone to the aux in socket and play music / stream etc through that ... but it's not very good for actually talking on the phone hands free or using the speech to text functions that allow you navigate or cue up preferred music...
There are products that allow you to add bluetooth to a car without or you could change the radio 'head unit' for a different one ...
or you could spend rather less than that for a slightly hillbilly solution but one that combined with a suitable vent or screen bracket integrates your phone and car stereo

all in all this cost about 10 gbp but it gives me full car kit type functionality ( phone audio through the car's speakers and the microphone is on the top of the A pillar ) and allows the phone to play music or other media via the car speakers , and also allows full voice control of my preferred navigation app.
