Another putting in the hours post
This year I decided to keep a record of how many hours I spent in class, and to keep a record of the hours in flats or soft blocks, the hours in pointes as well as the hours of contemporary and any other styles.
I'm unlikely to the make the (disputed) 10 000 hours to be 'an expert' quoted by Malcolm Gladwell in 'Outliers' in the near future...
Between 1/1/2019 and 31/7/19 I spent 132.5 hours in class across ballet class/pointe class / contemporary class
That's 30 weeks so the mean average is 4.42 hours a week ballet technique/ pointe/ contemporary.
I've done 18 hours of pointe class / classes in pointes...
I only added a regular contemporary class after Hype's show in June (in the run up to the show had seen the ballet groups doing a double class taking up the same time ballet and contemporary now does)
