confidence is a preference

I was asked what the most intimidating experience I have had in a  ballet class ? 

I don't know if the person asking the question was  fishing for some dysphoria inducing moment ? or something else...

Yes I've been misgendered in class... generally out of ignorance.

But this is all  academic as it's not about the most intimidating experience, ironically it's also a class I enjoyed immensely... 

I wrote about this class in a previous  post - an open class  at  Elementary to Intermediate level at a well known studio in a large UK city ...

so what was intimidating ?

the age  range for the  class is 10+ ,   and it was the school holidays, so the age range of the class was 10 - whatever ...  which is mildly intimidating in itself 

But the more intimidating  thing ?  when you have someone taking the class as a dancer who  you know their CV and have been taught by them...

The answer ? put it out your mind and enjoy the class,  surprise  the  skinny  youngsters who see some  overweight  middle aged  trans  woman  - but  then  realise that  ' heck, she can travel'

put out of your mind  who else is in the studio - they are just another dancer taking class .
