that poem
The author is safe and well
Because I’m a doll they think I don't breathe
Because I’m a doll they think I don't bleed
Because I’m a doll they think I don't feel
Because I’m a doll they think I don't cry
Because I’m a doll they will throw me in the trash, like
they did with the girl who came before
Because I’m a doll they think I don't love
Because I’m a doll they think I don't fight
Because I’m a doll they think I don't dance
Because I’m a doll they think I don't care
Because I’m a doll they won't care when they call me names,
say I'm a boy and a freak
Because I'm a doll they think I'm inert
Because I'm a doll they think I'm passive
But I breathe, I live, I fight ... I pick up the pieces and glue them back on,
tie up my ribbons and Dance on.
Just like the other Dolls winning this fight
