Anniversaries part 1

Not my anniversaries but a quick look at way the debate and discourse  around LGBTQ+ identities in the UK is so stilted 

In 1988, yes 1988, the Thatcher Government passed the Local government act 1988, the relevant part here being Section 28 of that act.

A year later in response  a group of people  including Michael Cashman and Lisa Power  founded Stonewall

It took until November 2003 for S28 to be repealed. 


2003  ... 

 and then people wonder  why  there are so many  queer folx  35 -50  who  have come out in their 30s and 40s  as the vacuum and the systemic conversion therapy of S28   finally  gets broken down ...
