This week's travels - MEDICAL TRANSITION - THE MECHANICS OF IT ALL - ASSESSMENTS - PART 5 - THE NHS SECOND ASSESSMENT

This Monday just gone I had an appointment in Sheffield. This appointment was my second Assessment appointment at the Gender Identity Clinic. As my first assessment  appointment ( back in January of this  year) was with a Nurse Clinician, this assessment was with a medical Doctor as the 2013 protocol  which is still in operation requires one of the diagnostic assessments to be undertaken by a medical Doctor.

The assessment itself is much like the other assessments  I've written about previously(here, here, here, here)

So with  11 months more of effective hormones and Testosterone suppression, more physical changes , continued  improved  mental health despite the best efforts of the TERFs and other assorted fascists to morally mandate trans  folx out of existence...

so what is the outcome ?

- Official NHS diagnosis
- Official NHS blessing to hormones 
- Referral for permanent  facial hair  removal (laser / electrolysis)
- Referral for speech therapist  for  voice feminisation training

and the recommendation of the assessor that we move to getting surgical referrals started at the next or next but one appointment.
